Nigah Woh Nahin Jo Surkh-o-Zard Pehchane
Nigah Woh Hai Ke Mouhtaj-e-Mehr-o-Mah Nahin
نگاہ وہ نہیں جو سُرخ و زرد پہچانے
نگاہ وہ ہے جو محتاجِ مہر و ماہ نہیں
True sight is not what distinguishes between red and purple,
True sight is not dependent upon the sun and the moon.
Farang Se Bohat Aage Hai Manzil-e-Momin
Qadam Utha! Ye Maqam Intahaye Rah Nahin
فرنگ سے بہت آگے ہے منزلِ مومن
قدم اٹھا! یہ مقام انتہائے راہ نہیں
The destination of the believer is beyond the Frankish horizon.
Take courage, it is not the end of your journey.
Khule Hain Sub Ke Liye Ghareebon Ke Maikhane
Uloom-e-Taza Ki Sarmastiyan Gunah Nahin
کھلے ہیں سب کے لیے غربیوں کے میخانے
علومِ تازہ کی سرمستیاں گناہ نہیں
The taverns of the West are open for all:
The ecstasy of the new learning is not a sin.
Issi Suroor Mein Poshida Mout Bhi Hai Teri
Tere Badan Men Agar Souz-e-‘La Ilah’ Nahin
اسی سرور میں پوشیدہ موت بھی ہے تری
ترے بدن میں اگر سوز لا الٰہ نہیں
The exhilaration will lead you to death
If you do not have the burning of ‘La Ilah’.
Sunain Ge Meri Sada Khanzadgan-e-Kabeer?
Gileem Posh Hon Main Sahib-e-Kulah Nahin!
سنیں گے میری صدا خانزادگانِ کبیر
گلیم پوش ہوں میں ، صاحبِ کلاہ نہیں
Will the great Sirdar listen to my feeble voice?
I am only a dervish lacking in worldly honor.

حقیقی نگاہ وہ نہیں جو صرف ظاہری رنگوں (سرخ و زرد) کی پہچان کرے، بلکہ اصل بصیرت وہ ہے جو مادی روشنی (سورج اور چاند) کی محتاج نہ ہو؛ یعنی وہ جو اشیاء کی حقیقت اور روح کو دیکھ سکے۔

Haqiqi nigah woh nahin jo sirf zahiri rangon (surkh-o-zard) ki pehchan kare, balkay asal baseerat woh hai jo maadi roshni (suraj aur chand) ki muhtaj na ho; yani woh jo ashya ki haqiqat aur rooh ko dekh sakay.

مومن کی منزل مغرب (فرنگ) کی تقلید سے بہت آگے ہے۔ اے نوجوان! قدم اٹھا اور آگے بڑھ، کیونکہ یہ مغربی تہذیب تیرے سفر کا آخری مقام نہیں ہے، بلکہ تجھے اس سے بھی بلند مقاصد حاصل کرنے ہیں۔

Momin ki manzil Maghrib (Farang) ki taqleed se bohat aage hai. Ae naujawan! Qadam utha aur aage barh, kyunke ye Maghribi tehzeeb tere safar ka aakhri maqam nahin hai, balkay tujhe iss se bhi buland maqasid hasil karne hain.

مغرب کے علم و دانش کے میخانے سب کے لیے کھلے ہیں، اور نئے علوم حاصل کرنا یا ان کی تحقیق میں مست ہونا کوئی گناہ نہیں ہے۔ اسلام علم حاصل کرنے سے نہیں روکتا۔

Maghrib ke ilm-o-danish ke maikhane sab ke liye khule hain, aur naye uloom hasil karna ya un ki tehqeeq mein mast hona koi gunah nahin hai. Islam ilm hasil karne se nahin rokta.

لیکن یاد رکھ! اگر تیرے وجود میں “لا الٰہ” (اللہ کی وحدانیت اور غیرت) کا سوز موجود نہیں ہے، تو اسی مغربی علم کے نشے میں تیری روحانی موت چھپی ہوئی ہے۔ بغیر ایمان کے علم صرف مادہ پرستی سکھاتا ہے۔

Lekin yaad rakh! Agar tere wujood mein “La Ilah” (Allah ki wahdaniyat aur ghairat) ka soz mojood nahin hai, to isi Maghribi ilm ke nashe mein teri roohani mout chhupi hui hai. Baghair iman ke ilm sirf mada-parasti sikhata hai.

کیا بڑے بڑے سردار اور خان میری اس آواز پر کان دھریں گے؟ میں تو ایک معمولی کملی پوش (درویش) ہوں، میرا دنیاوی جاہ و جلال والے صاحبِ تاج لوگوں سے کیا مقابلہ؟

Kya baray baray sardar aur khan meri iss awaz par kaan dharein ge? Mein to ek mamooli kamli-posh (darvesh) hoon, mera dunya-wi jah-o-jalal wale sahib-e-kulah logon se kya muqabla?
