آدم از سرمایہ داری قاتلِ آدم شد است

Roman Urdu Translation

Raaz-daan-e-juz-o-kul az khuish na-mahram shud ast

Adam az sarmaya-dari qatil-e-Adam shud ast

English Translation

The one who unravels the secrets of the universe has become a stranger to his own soul; through the greed of Capitalism, man has turned into the murderer of his fellow man.

Urdu Translation

اقبال اس شعر میں جدید انسان کے المیے کو بیان کرتے ہیں کہ آج کا انسان کائنات کے ذرے ذرے کے راز اور مادی علوم کا ماہر تو بن گیا ہے، لیکن اپنی اصل حقیقت اور روحانیت سے بالکل ناواقف (نامحرم) ہو چکا ہے۔ مادی ترقی کے اس دور میں سرمایہ دارانہ نظام نے انسان کے اندر دولت کی ایسی ہوس بھر دی ہے کہ وہ اپنے مادی فائدے کے لیے دوسرے انسان کا استحصال کر رہا ہے اور انسانیت کا قتلِ عام کر رہا ہے۔

English Translation

In this verse, Iqbal highlights the tragedy of modern man: while he has mastered the complex secrets of the physical world (juz-o-kul), he has utterly lost touch with his own inner self and spiritual identity. Furthermore, he points out that the exploitative nature of Capitalism has replaced human empathy with greed, driving people to oppress and destroy one another for the sake of wealth.
