(Zabur-e-Ajam-113) Part 2-52: Mai Daireena Wa Mashooq Jawan Cheeze Neest مَےِ دِیرِینہ و مَعشُوقِ جَواں چِیزے نِیست
مَےِ دِیرِینہ و مَعشُوقِ جَواں چِیزے نِیست
پیشِ صاحِب نَظراں حُور و جِناں چِیزے نِیست!
Roman Urdu Translation
May-e-deereena o mashooq-e-jawan cheezay neest,
Pesh-e-sahib nazaran hoor o jinan cheezay neest!
English Translation
Old wine and a young beloved are of no significance; in the eyes of the people of vision, even the houris and paradise are of no account!

اقبال کہتے ہیں کہ وہ لوگ جن کی بصیرت جاگ چکی ہے اور جنہیں اللہ کا قرب حاصل ہے، ان کے لیے دنیا کی لذتیں (پرانی شراب اور خوبصورت محبوب) کوئی اہمیت نہیں رکھتیں۔ یہاں تک کہ وہ جنت کی حوروں اور وہاں کی آسائشوں کے بھی طلبگار نہیں ہوتے، کیونکہ ان کی نظر صرف “ذاتِ حق” پر ہوتی ہے۔ ان کے نزدیک اصل کامیابی اللہ کی رضا ہے، نہ کہ جنت کے ظاہری انعامات۔

Iqbal kehte hain ke wo log jin ki baseerat jaag chuki hai aur jinhein Allah ka qurb hasil hai, un ke liye duniya ki lazzatein (purani sharab aur khoobsurat mehboob) koi ahmiyat nahi rakhtin. Yahan tak ke wo jannat ki hooron aur wahan ki aasaishon ke bhi talabgaar nahi hote, kyunke un ki nazar sirf “Zat-e-Haq” par hoti hai. Un ke nazdeek asal kamyabi Allah ki riza hai, na ke jannat ke zahiri inamaat.
ہَر چہ اَز مُحکَم و پائَندہ شَناسِی گُذَرَد
کُوہ و صَحرا و بَر و بَحْر و کَراں چِیزے نِیست
Roman Urdu Translation
Har cha az muhkam o painda shinasi guzarad,
Koh o sahra o bar o bahr o karaan cheezay neest.
English Translation
Whatever you perceive as firm and eternal is destined to pass away; mountains, deserts, land, sea, and shores are nothing (but fleeting shadows).

تم اس دنیا میں جن چیزوں کو بہت مضبوط اور ہمیشہ رہنے والا سمجھتے ہو، جیسے اونچے پہاڑ، وسیع صحرا اور گہرے سمندر، یہ سب ایک دن ختم ہو جائیں گے۔ کائنات کی ہر مادی شے فانی ہے اور وقت کے ساتھ مٹ جائے گی۔ اس لیے انسان کو ان عارضی چیزوں سے دل لگانے کے بجائے اس ہستی سے لَو لگانی چاہیے جو ہمیشہ رہنے والی ہے۔

Tum is duniya mein jin cheezon ko bohat mazboot aur hamesha rehne wala samajhte ho, jaise oonche pahar, wasee sahra aur gehre samandar, ye sab ek din khatam ho jayen ge. Kainat ki har maadi shay fani hai aur waqt ke sath mit jaye gi. Is liye insan ko in aarzi cheezon se dil lagane ke bajaye us hasti se lau lagani chahiye jo hamesha rehne wali hai.
دانِشِ مَغرِبیاں، فَلسَفہِ مَشرِقیاں
ہَمَہ بُتخانہ و دَر طَوفِ بُتاں چِیزے نِیست
Roman Urdu Translation
Danish-e-maghribiyan, falsafa-e-mashriqiyan,
Hama but-khana o dar tauf-e-butan cheezay neest.
English Translation
The intellect of the Westerners and the philosophy of the Easterners are all but a temple of idols; there is no benefit in circumambulating these idols!

اقبال کے نزدیک مغرب کی مادہ پرست عقل اور مشرق کا خیالی و فرسودہ فلسفہ دونوں ہی انسان کو حقیقت سے دور رکھتے ہیں۔ یہ نظریات “بتوں” کی مانند ہیں جن کی لوگ پوجا کر رہے ہیں۔ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ ان ذہنی بتوں کے طواف سے زندگی میں کوئی انقلاب نہیں آ سکتا۔ حقیقی علم وہ ہے جو انسان کو اللہ اور اس کی اپنی خودی سے روشناس کرائے۔

Iqbal ke nazdeek maghrib ki madda-parast aql aur mashriq ka khayali o farsooda falsafa donon hi insan ko haqeeqat se door rakhte hain. Ye nazriyat “buton” ki manind hain jin ki log pooja kar rahe hain. Wo kehte hain ke in zehni buton ke tauf se zindagi mein koi inqalab nahi aa sakta. Haqeeqi ilm wohi hai jo insan ko Allah aur is ki apni khudi se roshanas karaye.
اَز خُود اَندِیش و اَز اِیں بادِیَہ تَرساں مَگُو
کہ تُو ہَستِی و وُجُودِ دُو جَہاں چِیزے نِیست
Roman Urdu Translation
Az khud andeesh o az een badiya tarsaan magoo,
Ki tu hasti o wajood-e-do jahan cheezay neest.
English Translation
Think of yourself (your Khudi) and do not speak fearfully of this desert; for you exist, and the existence of both worlds is as nothing (compared to you)!

اپنی خودی پر غور کرو اور زندگی کے اس کٹھن راستے (صحرا) سے مت ڈرو۔ اقبال انسان کو اس کے بلند مقام کی یاد دہانی کرواتے ہوئے کہتے ہیں کہ اگر تم نے اپنی خودی کو پہچان لیا تو یہ دونوں جہان تمہارے سامنے ہیچ ہوں گے۔ کائنات تمہارے لیے ہے، تم کائنات کے لیے نہیں ہو۔ تمہارا وجود ہی اصل حقیقت ہے جس کے گرد یہ کائنات گردش کر رہی ہے۔

Apni khudi par ghaur karo aur zindagi ke is kathan raastay (sahra) se mat daro. Iqbal insan ko is ke buland maqam ki yaad-dahani karwate hue kehte hain ke agar tum ne apni khudi ko pehchan liya to ye donon jahan tumhare samne heech hon ge. Kainat tumhare liye hai, tum kainat ke liye nahi ho. Tumhara wajood hi asal haqeeqat hai jis ke gird ye kainat gardish kar rahi hai.
دَر طَرِیقے کہ بَہ نَوکِ مِژہ کاوِیدَم مَن
مَنزِل و قافِلَہ و رِیگِ رَواں چِیزے نِیست
Roman Urdu Translation
Dar tareeqe ki ba nok-e-mizha kaveedam man,
Manzil o qafila o reg-e-rawan cheezay neest.
English Translation
On the path that I have excavated with my eyelashes, the destination, the caravan, and the shifting sands are of no consequence!

عشق اور خودی کی جس راہ پر میں چل رہا ہوں، اسے میں نے اپنی پلکوں کی نوک سے کھودا ہے (یعنی انتہائی مشقت اور خلوص سے پایا ہے)۔ اس منزل پر پہنچنے کے بعد مسافر کو نہ تو کسی منزل کی پرواہ رہتی ہے، نہ قافلے کی ضرورت اور نہ ہی راستے کی رکاوٹوں کا خوف۔ یہاں صرف تڑپ اور سفر ہی اصل مقصود بن جاتا ہے اور ظاہری اشیاء اپنی اہمیت کھو دیتی ہیں۔

Ishq aur khudi ki jis raah par main chal raha hoon, isay main ne apni palkon ki nok se khoda hai (yani intehai mushaqqat aur khuloos se paya hai). Is manzil par pahunchne ke baad musafir ko na to kisi manzil ki parwah rehti hai, na qafile ki zaroorat aur na hi raastay ki rukawaton ka khauf. Yahan sirf tarap aur safar hi asal maqsud ban jata hai aur zahiri ashiya apni ahmiyat kho deti hain.
